چکیده

This paper examines if collaborative networks affect the export status in family firms (FFs) and effect of is different regarding degree internationalisation firm. The results show that network more relevant when firm has low intensity. However, this role becomes less a higher internationalisation. Our can be useful, on one hand, for regulators who need to develop programs supporting sales FFs, other managers FFs since provide evidence importance FFs. contributes literature practice by noting process slower than companies tend reluctant participate require greater commitment.

Export Intensity and Plant Characteristics: What Can We Learn from Quantile Regression?

Using quantile regression and a rich cross section data set for German manufacturing plants this paper documents that the impact of plant characteristics on export activities varies along the conditional size distribution of the export/sales ratio. For example, firm size is statistically significant at a conventional level for the 0.25 quantile only; branch plant status matters at the upper tai...

Family Firms, Corporate Governance and Export

This paper investigates the effects of family ownership on export using rich data on Italian firms. We find that family ownership increases the probability that firms export. This benefit is especially pronounced when family owners retain control rights and seek the support of external managers. The results suggest that families better internalize the long-run benefits of internationalization, ...

Export Intensity and Financial Leverage of Indian firms

The export sector is considered an important sector for developing countries; hence it is important to understand the behavior of exporting firms. This paper looks at the financial structure of such firms and investigates plausible relationships between export status and leverage. If product demand from abroad has a low correlation with domestic demand, we would expect export-intensive firms to...

A Quantile Regression Approach to Firm Growth

This paper explores the firm growth rate distribution in a Gibrat's Law context. The aim is to provide an empirical exploration of the determinants of firm growth. The work is novel in two respects. First, rather than limiting the analysis to focus on the conditional mean growth level, we investigate the complete shape of the distribution. Second, we show that the differences in the firm growth...

Export Intensity and Financial Policies of Indian firms

If product demand from abroad has a low correlation with domestic demand, we would expect export-intensive firms to have greater cashflow stability than firms that only sell domestically. This implies that they would also be able to support higher financial leverage. We test this hypothesis by looking at a sample of Indian firms. The hypothesis is tentatively accepted. Export Intensity and Fina...
